Stephanie R. Bridges is an award winning, Amazon best-selling author, publisher, spoken word artist and public speaker. She founded In Spirit Power and Truth Publishing (I SPaT), LLC in 2014 and has since released ten titles in multiple genres. The book, “I SPaT” chronicles her journey of alcoholism, drug addiction, multiple arrests and single parenting through prose and poetry. Stephanie penned four children’s books based on the individual personalities of her children. She worked with local, African American illustrators to bring the characters to life. Stephanie believes it is crucial to have representation of the African Diaspora in children’s books of kids just being kids and not performing “blackness,” by focusing on hair, complexion, black history, etc. A balance is needed, and she hopes her books offer that.
In 2018, Stephanie turned her attention to assisting other writers in achieving their literary goals. In that effort, she wrote and published two non-fiction books. “Seeking and Securing Individual Artist Grants” provides the steps, tools and resources for funding craft-related purchases, projects, and professional development with grants and sponsorships. Her 2nd non-fiction title walks authors through the print on demand self-publishing process. Stephanie founded and launched the Bridges Book Club in 2019, as well, to create a network of literary professionals excited about furthering their careers and that of others, by gaining and giving knowledge about the writing and publishing industry. The annual Bridges Book Club Book Fair is held in Columbus, OH, in April of each year.
The mission of I SPaT, LLC, is to create positive content for and in collaboration with the Diaspora. Stephanie is currently working on releasing an animated series based on her creative non-fiction book of shorts, “That’s the Story of My Life.” Stephanie loves partnering with other artists and organizations to help bring her vision to fruition. She also enjoys helping people recognize the creative visionary in themselves and reach their objective dreams. Stephanie’s collaborative efforts have afforded her the opportunity to curate two art exhibits based on original art she has commissioned for illustrations and cover art. In everything she does, Stephanie endeavors to live by her phrase - Read Books, Breathe Art, Bless UP. To learn more, please explore her websites - Stephanierbridges.com and Bridgesbookclub.com.
